and the preservation of the environment.

Fundamental Values of ICCOD

  • The NGO ICCOD is built on strong values: We are dedicated to protecting endangered wildlife, preserving the environment, and assisting the most vulnerable individuals with determination and passion. We persist in our efforts for a better world where every person and ecosystem is respected and safeguarded. Our mission knows no borders, aiming for a world where wildlife thrives, the environment is conserved, and vulnerable populations are supported. We stand in solidarity with those impacted by injustice, marginalization, and violence, working tirelessly to build a more just and sustainable future.
  • ICCOD-NGO is guided by core values including respect, integrity, innovation, and professionalism. We are deeply committed to safeguarding endangered wildlife, the environment, and those who are most vulnerable, marginalized, or affected by violence. Respect is central to our approach, as we acknowledge the inherent value of every living being and the significance of maintaining the ecological balance of our planet. We operate with integrity, ensuring that our actions align with our principles and that we are accountable for our commitments to the communities we serve.
  • Innovation is a fundamental cornerstone of our work. We are continually searching for new ideas, methods, and approaches to address the environmental and social challenges ahead of us. We foster creativity and explore innovative solutions to promote positive and enduring change. As dedicated professionals, we work with diligence and expertise to reach our objectives. We leverage our knowledge across different fields to execute efficient and sustainable projects. Our aim is to offer quality support to local communities, ensuring that our efforts lead to tangible and significant impacts.

ICCOD-NGO is an indigenous Pygmy organization

that works for the well-being of communities and the preservation of the environment. We are apolitical, non-denominational, independent and non-profit, acting with absolute respect for all, without exclusion or discrimination.

Our story began long before our official establishment in 2015. Young people, women, and visionaries, convinced of the importance of uniting efforts for common objectives, were committed to the equitable management of natural resources. Founded in Nyabibwe Centre, Mbinga-Nord Group, Kalehe Territory, South Kivu Province in DR Congo, ICCOD-ONG brought together young people, women, and indigenous adults, including Pygmies and non-Pygmies, who shared the same vision: to promote the well-being of communities and preserve the environment for sustainable development.

For several years, ICCOD-ONG has been recognized for its commitment in the field of the environment, particularly in adapting to climate change, protecting endangered species, preserving nature, promoting ecological agriculture, providing environmental education, and supporting community and sustainable development. We believe in a global and inclusive approach that places communities at the heart of our actions for a better and more sustainable future.

We express our deep gratitude to our partners who fervently support our commitment in accomplishing the various tasks.

Your unwavering support contributes in an essential way to the realization of our mission and the achievement of our objectives. We greatly appreciate your collaboration and trust, and we are honored to work alongside you to create a positive and lasting impact. Your valuable support strengthens our determination to continue our efforts to protect the environment, marginalized communities and endangered species. Together, we work for a better future.
